Pine Cone
03:28
|
|||
A hot summer day, way up high
An old cedar tree, touches the sky
Sends down a cone, into the dirt
Gives it up to Mother, sweet Mother Earth
Cone sprouts a tree, grows tall and true
Into the sky, into the blue
Sends down a cone, before she says farewell
Then she lays by the river, as the river swells
I am thankful for the cone
I am thankful for the tree
I am thankful for the river
That flows beneath our feet
Just sitting with you, just a letting it go
Being together, watching the river flow
Hand in hand, walking down a trail
No one in sight, in this luscious tree veil
River comes into view, so pure and clear
A moment in time, to forever hold dear
I am thankful for the cone
I am thankful for the tree
I am thankful for the river
That flows beneath our feet
Just sitting with you, just a letting it go
Being together, watching the river flow
An old cedar log, a bridge once a mighty tree
She was by herself, now together are we
We crawled upon her back, the river flowed below
Something fell from above, it was a little pine cone
I am thankful for the cone
I am thankful for the tree
I am thankful for the river
That flows beneath our feet
Just sitting with you, just a letting it go
Being together, watching the river flow
Being together, watching the river flow

Walking In The Rain
03:25
|
|||
Sitting and thinking, wondering what to do
Too much time distancing, glad that I have you
Across the table with your big brown eyes
Looking out the window another rainy sky
Right then I had an idea, out of the blue
I’d like to take a walk with you
Walking in the rain
Water dripping down our nose
Won’t be too long until we’re soaked from head to toe
Might seem kind of strange doing what we do
I just want to take a walk in the rain
Holding hands with you
Life is full of muddy trails, full of puddles too
No need to weave around Just plow on through
Put on your wellies, stomp with all your might
Send that muddy water skyward, right out of sight
Remember what it was like, when you were just two
Stomp in the rain, a rainbow’s coming soon
Walking in the rain
Water dripping down our nose
Won’t be too long until we’re soaked from head to toe
Might seem kind of strange doing what we do
I just want to take a walk in the rain
Holding hands with you
Took a walk in the rain
Water running down our nose
It’s no surprise to us, we’re soaked from head to toe
Didn’t miss a puddle, it’s what we do
We’ll go inside, dry it off
Have some tea, laugh a lot
Forecast calls for more of the same
Tomorrow we’ll hold hands again
And take a walk in the rain

Fabric Of You
04:44
|
|||
Rain on the window, rain on my mind
Tear drops running down the pain, ease with time
You’re not here again, same as yesterday
Need to hear your words, what you would say
Open the drawer, get close to you
Ease my arms into where you, used to be
I pull you closer, nearer to my heart
It’s not you but, it’s a start
So I wear your sweater
The weave binds me next to you, and I feel a little better, and
Your scent lingers, how can that be
It seems like forever, since you held me
Let’s take a stroll, you and I
While the sands of time go slowly sliding by
You’re never really gone, as long as can I feel
The fabric of you next to me, it helps me heal
So I wear your sweater
The weave binds me next to you, and I feel a little better, and
Your scent lingers, how can that be
It seems like forever, since you held me
Look in the mirror, sweater looks at me
I am in a place where I am not supposed to be
I know you’d be here, if you could
Your love leads me onward, just like you would
And I’ll cherish you, till the end of time
Your love warms me still, I’ll be fine
I think of you each and every day
The memory of your sweet embrace, time can’t take that away
And I wear your sweater
The weave binds me next to you, and I feel a little better, and
Your scent lingers, how can that be
It seems like forever, since you held me
Since you held me
Since you held me

Two Feet
04:22
|
|||
Thank the universe for your two feet
Makes it easy to cross a street
Some use those feet and take a stand
Others go out dancing, and do the Can Can
Get your kicks, Doe-Se-Doe
Shuffle through fresh fallen snow
Pinky toe comes along just along for the ride
Heels take all the blows as we stride
Into the river of life we go
Where it flows we don’t know
Down aisles with stained glass walls
Sterile white hospital halls
No matter where no matter why
My two feet will be by your side
Our four feet have seen a lot
Sandy beaches and pot holed parking lots
Pedicures and painted toes
Put your troubles in an can and kick’em on down the road
What would we do without two feet
Where wouldn’t we go, who wouldn’t we meet
My two feet found you that’s all I know
The universe keeps spinning putting on its show
Into the river of life we go
Where it flows we don’t know
Down aisles with stained glass walls
Sterile white hospital halls
No matter where no matter why
My two feet will be by your side
Into the river of life we go
Where it flows we don’t know
Down aisles with stained glass walls
Sterile white hospital halls
No matter where no matter why
My two feet will be by your side
No matter where no matter why
My two feet will be by your side

Not Today
03:59
|
|||
How can a life that has so much
Feel empty now without your touch
All the love you gave so free to me
I miss your smile this hole is heavy
Pain cuts a void, deep as can be
I feel blind sometimes, it’s hard to see
Time slips away, love fills the hole
Please visit my dreams, fill up my soul
I promise you I’ll smile again
But not today
The way you laughed the way you danced
the way you frowned that knowing glance
You worked so hard you seized the day
Your guiding hand show me the way
Pain cuts a void, deep as can be
I feel blind sometimes, it’s hard to see
Time slips away, love fills the hole
Please visit my dreams, fill up my soul
I promise you I’ll smile again
But not today
The time you spent all that you touched
was more than anyone could ask for
So now you’re gone, our little lives roll on
We’ll do our best to keep it going
Pain cuts a void, deep as can be
I feel blind sometimes, it’s hard to see
Time slips away, love fills the hole
Please visit my dreams, fill up my soul
I promise you I’ll smile again
But not today
